		<description>Well put, and something I have wondered when I have seen similar kinds of shows. I always wished my father (an American) had put more effort into learning my mother&#039;s Norwegian language. He had to live with Norwegian food most of the time since she didn&#039;t learn to make many of my father&#039;s Alabama favorites but it saddens me that there is an expectation for wives to completely assimilate with little or no sacrifice on the part of their husbands.</description>
