At my work, French is much more spoken than English - they only switch to English when they need to involve me in some conversations and meetings. In order to get out of this feeling of sorta isolation, from tomorrow, I'm taking a French course given by a fellow stagiaire every Wed and also I'll soon start a regular course at a school. Well, actually, French is A problem here and my French is almost dumb level. I have two-day 'Welcome Conference' on Mon & Tue, which consists of several speeches on 'what's going on in the EU', group photo of 'all 600 trainees (!)', elections of committee board and court of auditors, etc. Then, next Wednesday will be my real official working day at my unit.
