Random Thought 1: Bottled Water

Until today, I have bought 3 sets of 8 x 1.5 litre’ bottled water. As seen on the photo, I used to buy 6 x 1 litre sets, but by increasing the amount of drinking water, I came to buy bigger bottles. On the day when I first bought this bigger set, I had a random thought while groaningly carrying it out along with me about 300 metres from Carrefour to my flat.
1. Shite, it’s bloody heavy… I wish I had a guy who could serve as a porter, or my own car.
But, another thought immediately followed.
2. No, I’d better meet a guy who has a car. Then, it’s perfect.
However, an immediate modification.
3. 차 있는 남자를 만나길 기다리느니 내가 돌돌이라도 하나 장만하는 것이 빠르지 않을까…;;
3. Rather than waiting for a guy having a car, it might take shorter for me to get myself a wheeled shopping bag.
After all, since it’s not really a smart idea to buy a wheeled shopping bag in my current situation where I don’t know for now whether I would stay longer here, today I again just manually carried the eight water bottles only by trusting my strong arm. By the way, the arched grip scotch-taped onto the set I bought today was not sticky enough, and the bottles were fallen on the ground three times, which made my return more difficult.

Didn’t you get this idea from all the old ladies who wheel their groceries? At least that is what it is like back in Stavanger – in Stavanger you become an ajuma when you finally start dragging your groceries home on wheels.

Do you have a similar thing to craigslist in brussels? I know they have them in some European cities, but I don’t think Brussels is one of them. That way you could get one free, then list it and pass it on when or if you move.
I don’t think cart automatically means you’re an old lady.
Then again, I think it would be fun to have a metal detector at the beach, and Michael says that only old men use those.

KML – Well, it’s true I haven’t seen anyone but old ladies who carries this wheeled bag.
Elisabeth – Thanks for your disagreement!
I know we have a kind of web site like a craiglist mainly organised by expatriates but I’m not sure whether it’s all free or not. Btw, what do the old men search for with a metal detector at the beach? Mobiles, rings??

What they search for…
Anything of monetary or historical value…jewelry, coins, etc. In some areas of the states they use them to find antiques or old battleground (Civil War) guns and war relics, hidden stashes of money, farming equipment/antiques, etc. I think the old guys who comb the beach are mainly looking for change and jewelry, though.
