한국에 있는 은지가 지난 달에 보낸 메일에 전화 한 번 해볼까 하면 어디 갔다 그러고 그러다 좀 있다 다시 확인해보면 또 어디 갔다 해서 당췌 통화를 할 수 없다고 애교 섞인 볼멘 소리를 하였다.
Eunji, a friend of mine in Korea, sent me an email last month where she said whenever she was trying to call me and checked my status, I was out of the country so she had trouble catching me.

내가 한 달에 한 번은 일 때문이든 사적으로든 싱가폴을 벗어나고자 의도를 해왔기 때문에 그녀의 지적이 틀린 것만은 아니다.
As I intend to escape from Singapore once a month for either work or personal reason, I understand her frustration.

8월에는 여행 일정이 두 개나 잡혀 있어서 당일이 가까워지면 오른쪽의 트위터에 올리겠지만 이미 확정되었기 때문에 미리 올리고자 한다.
Since I already have two travel itineraries confirmed in August, in addition to real-time tweets that I’m going to upload as it gets closer to the dates, let me post here where I will be this month.

6th — 10th August

올해 출장을 가는 건 9월에서 10월 초가 마지막이 될 것이고 11월에 잘 하면 여행을 한 번 갈 것 같고 연말에는 어디서 휴가를 보낼지 아직 정하지 않았다.
I will go on the last business trip for this year from end September  to early October. I might travel in November and haven’t decided where to spend year-end holidays.

1년 내내 계속 바쁜 와중에 이렇게 짧게나마 여행의 기회가 주어진다는 것이 얼마나 행운인지. 하지만 아직도 가고 싶은데 못 가 본 곳이 너무 많다!
Whilst staying busy throughout the year, how lucky I am to be able to  travel even for a very short period. But there are still so many places I haven’t been to!
